Traffic Counting

KATS works with the cities of Kalamazoo and Portage and the Kalamazoo County Road Commission to maintain a database of traffic count information for Kalamazoo County.  Data is reported to the Michigan Department of Transportation annually as a part of the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS).

Asset Management

Since 2003, KATS has been working with the Michigan Department of Transportation and the local road agencies to collect road inventory data on federal aid eligible roads.  Recently, data collection has been taking place on local roads within the cities and townships of Kalamazoo County.

Non-Motorized

Staff works to update the non-motorized map for Kalamazoo County.  Work is also being completed on the nine-county map outlining non-motorized trails, bikeways, and roadways throughout Southwest Michigan.
